Episode 1 — the role of an Owner's Engineer in Pyrolysis
The first episode takes the hardest case there is.
A tyre pyrolysis plant. The reactor has arrived at site. Half the machinery is delivered. The build is deep enough that walking away is not an option. And the technology partner has just walked out — taking the installation manual, the commissioning manual and the control philosophy with them. The investor wants a schedule next week.

Steel is not the problem
That is the line the episode turns on. If the reactor is standing in your yard, the metal is not what is missing. The know-how that walked out is — and know-how can be rebuilt from documents, drawings and simulation, faster and far more cheaply than steel can be recut.
An owner's engineer is the engineer you hire to sit on your side of the table: paid by you, answerable to you, checking the design and the build that somebody else sold you. On this kind of job we are not the company supplying the machinery under review, so what we find comes to you first.
Where a decision can be tested before anyone welds, we test it — reactor and furnace heat distribution, tar clogging in the vapour pipeline, condenser performance. As Suhas put it in the episode: if it is going to fail, let it fail on the screen. No law of physics is hidden.
