# APChemi Secures $515,000 to Transform Plastic Waste Management
(February 28, 2025 | Delhi, India) APChemi has secured a $515,000 (₹450 lacs) agreement with the Technology Development Board (TDB), Government of India. This partnership aims to revolutionize plastic waste management with advanced pyrolysis oil purification technologies. The agreement represents half of the $1.03 million (₹900 lacs) total project cost. It promises to boost capital efficiency in chemical recycling by 2-5 times compared to conventional methods.

Unprecedented Investment in Advanced Recycling
Shri Rajesh Kumar Pathak, Secretary, TDB, highlighted the project's strategic importance:
"APChemi’s innovative approach exemplifies the kind of indigenous solutions that TDB is dedicated to supporting. These technologies address pressing environmental challenges while strengthening domestic capabilities and creating economic opportunities. APChemi's initiative will contribute significantly to a sustainable and self-reliant circular economy for plastics in India, reducing dependence on imported crude oil and fostering job creation."
"This TDB partnership transforms our ability to scale a solution that changes the fundamental economics of plastic circularity," said Mr. Suhas Dixit, CEO of APChemi. "By delivering 2-5 times greater capital efficiency than conventional methods, we're not just improving recycling — we're making it irresistible to global markets. Our technology eliminates the corrosives and catalyst poisons that have historically prevented pyrolysis oil from becoming circular plastics, opening a floodgate of opportunity for plastic waste that would otherwise pollute our environment."
Breakthrough Technology Disrupts Recycling Economics

Our patented PUREMAX™ technology transforms the economics of plastic recycling. It delivers unprecedented capital efficiency in converting non-recyclable waste into high-value products. This revolutionary approach provides a 2-5x improvement over traditional chemical recycling methods. It creates a compelling business case that accelerates plastic circularity at scale.
Addressing Complex Waste
The technology processes complex multi-layer packaging waste containing PET and PVC. It boasts an impurity removal efficiency of up to 99.7% for chlorine, addressing a critical bottleneck that has hindered the widespread adoption of pyrolysis for circular plastics. This technological breakthrough has already secured Letters of Intent from eight global corporations, including Shell, BASF, Unilever, and PepsiCo.
Massive Environmental and Economic Impact
Globally, less than 10% of the 350 million metric tonnes of plastic waste are effectively recycled each year. This project aims to deliver a scalable solution to this mounting crisis. The initiative will:
Process 1.2 to 6 kilotonnes of plastic waste annually
Generate approximately 100 new skilled jobs
Significantly reduce plastic pollution and carbon emissions
Position India as a leader in advanced recycling technologies
Contribution to the Circular Economy
This initiative not only addresses the immediate environmental threat but also aligns with global efforts to promote a sustainable circular economy. The ability to recycle more plastic will decrease the amount of waste entering landfills and the ocean. Consequently, this will lead to a cleaner environment and a healthier planet.
Path to Commercialization
APChemi is set to commence commercial production by February 2026. This marks the beginning of a new paradigm in plastic circularity. The initiative combines significant environmental impacts with compelling economic benefits.
