APChemi Secures Fifth Patent, Strengthening Its Position in Pyrolysis Reactor Technology

Navi Mumbai, 02/01/2024 – APChemi, a global leader in pyrolysis and chemical recycling technology, today announced the grant of its fifth patent, further solidifying its position at the forefront of innovative Pyrolysis Reactor Technology. The patent, titled "An Apparatus for Pyrolysis of Polymer Waste and the Process Thereof," was granted by the Government of India's Patent Office on January 2, 2024.

This latest patent (No. 493062) showcases APChemi's ongoing commitment to developing cutting-edge technologies that address the global challenges of waste management and environmental sustainability. The patented technology is capable of processing a wide range of feedstocks, including plastic, tyre, and biomass waste, demonstrating its versatility and potential impact across multiple industries.

"We are thrilled to receive our fifth granted patent, which underscores our dedication to innovation and our commitment to providing our clients with state-of-the-art technology," said Mr. Suhas Dixit, CEO of APChemi. "This patent further advances our mission to drive sustainable pyrolysis of plastic, biomass, and tyre waste."

APChemi's pyrolysis technology has already proven its effectiveness in real-world applications. A long-standing client, who has been operating an APChemi-supplied pyrolysis plant since 2018, reports that the plant has consistently performed above its design capacity of 6 tonnes per day, reaching over 8 tonnes per day. The client praised the plant's ability to convert mixed plastic waste, tyre waste, or vegetable oil waxes into high-quality pyrolysis oil, highlighting the technology's versatility and efficiency.

Key highlights of APChemi's achievements include:

  • Completion of 47 successful pyrolysis projects worldwide

  • Over 1.3 million hours of cumulative plant operation

  • Processing of more than 179 million kg of plastic and biomass waste

  • A growing portfolio of 12 patents in pyrolysis and pyrolysis oil purification

  • Creation of over 3,000 jobs globally since 2007

The newly patented technology builds on APChemi's track record of innovation, which includes previous patents for devices that enhance the quality and efficiency of plastic pyrolysis. These innovations have consistently improved the quality of end products, extended reactor life, and reduced maintenance costs, making the pyrolysis process more economical and environmentally friendly.

As a testament to its commitment to sustainability and quality, APChemi's technology has received recognition from various industry bodies. The company's pyrolysis oil has been successfully tested in electricity generators, engines, and steam boilers, meeting stringent environmental standards.

APChemi continues to push the boundaries of what's possible in waste-to-value technology, with ongoing projects including a 1.8 KTA pyrolysis oil upgrader near Mumbai and development of up to 240 TPD pyrolysis projects in the EU and UK.
